Barry Brown Retirement Dinner                                                               

A retirement celebration was held on November 30, for Barry Brown at the Oakville Conference Centre in Oakville Ontario. Over 200 people were in attendance to honor Barry’s commitment and service to the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada.

Four speakers paid tribute to Barry. Kevin Waschuk, president of PLCAC; John Telford, from the UA Plumbers and Pipefitters spoke on behalf of the four pipeline craft unions: the Laborers, the Operating Engineers, Teamsters, and the UA; Lyall Nash, Chair of the Canadian Pipeline Advisory Council; and Lon Mullin, long time friend  and past president of the PLCAC. Barry was touched and impressed with the turnout and the standing ovation to his concluding remarks.

"I am very grateful for the opportunities that allowed me to associate and work with the leaders of the pipeline industry in Canada. I will always cherish the memories of our great successes, daunting challenges, tough negotiations, exciting places and wonderful conventions."
